Spall Clark Solicitors
Serving Clients and the Local Community for 5 Years
In September 2024 we celebrated our 5th birthday.
Where it all began
In 2019, our managing director Paul Clark launched Spall Clark Solicitors to create a law firm that combines high quality specialist legal advice with a personal approach. Starting from scratch gave him the opportunity to combine the best values of the legal profession with modern technology and processes.
Specialist solicitors
As a specialist practice, we focus on Inheritance Tax planning, Cross Border estates, Court of Protection, Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and Estate Administration. During the past 5 years we have supported many of our clients during the most difficult times of their lives including terminal diagnosis, death and incapacity. We offer an integrated approach to providing legal advice and work closely with other professionals like accountants and financial advisors to ensure our clients receive the right advice from the right people at the right time. Our clients are provided with plain English summaries of their key legal documents and we offer fixed fees wherever possible.
The Spall Clark difference
We are committed to providing an exceptional service and building strong relationships with clients is important to our team. Meetings can be arranged to take place at home or clients can visit our office in Congleton. Clients also receive the direct dial number of their solicitor so they can reach out directly without the frustration of speaking to a receptionist or ‘gatekeeper’. Matters are always handled with care and sensitivity. Always striving to improve, we have sought client feedback in the form of a short survey and during our first 5 years in business, 100% of respondents rated us exceptional or very good.
Covid-19 Pandemic
As with every business journey, there have been hurdles to overcome. Spall Clark Solicitors was incepted approximately six months before the start of the first covid pandemic lockdown. The pandemic saw many changes to so many aspects of life and the legal profession was no different including temporary changes to the witnessing requirements for Wills. Solicitors were classed as key workers and so we continued to support our clients with their important legal matters through virtual appointments so they could still receive the advice and support that was needed. During this unusual period, Wills were signed through living room windows and on car bonnets.
Supporting the local community
Beyond the expertise provided to individuals and families, we have made supporting the local community a key part of what we do. Recent events we have supported include sponsorship of the Congleton Lawn Tennis Club’s Town Mayor’s Tournament which raised £160 for the Mayor’s charities.
We also host regular art exhibitions for local artists at our Congleton office. Through these art exhibitions we have supported Beartown Rickshaw, a Congleton based charity that provides free rickshaw rides to socially isolated locals helping them to get out into the fresh air with the aim of improving their mental health and wellbeing. Our most recent exhibition was held in support of Congleton Dementia Friends, spotlighting local amateur artist Linda McKellar and raising a total of £167.84.

Paul Clark is proud of what the firm has achieved over the last five years and is excited about the future. He says:
“I started with a dream and a vision of what I wanted to achieve with Spall Clark and ultimately, the goal was to create a business that made a positive difference to our clients and local community. Reading the feedback we have received over the past 5 years has been touching. I am honoured that we have been trusted by so many people to help with them with matters that are most important to them. I speak on behalf of all of us at Spall Clark when I say we are looking forward to supporting many more people in future.”
